Welcome to Orlando Tales: A World of Beauty and Inspiration!
Unveil our Imaginary Hotel structure, delve into our Literary Editorials and uncover the unique art that we commission artists to create.
WHY ORLANDO?
Literature is at the heart of Orlando. Owing the inspiration to two literary characters, the heroic knight of Orlando Furioso by Ludovico Ariosto and the eternal youth, Orlando by Virginia Woolf.
Each magazine issue is a literary voyage, guided by a central theme, a novel, a legend, a pillar of universal culture, translated into a visual feast by our Creative Director and Founder, Antonella Dellepiane Pescetto.
Prepare to be immersed in a world of words and imagery.

IMAGINARY HOTEL
Welcome to Orlando, the only magazine in the world structured like an imaginary hotel.
Picture this: a refined and cosy hotel where our charming lobby boy, Mr. O, can’t wait to guide you through an unforgettable journey. He is ready to welcome sensitive and curious travellers, explorers of the contemporary, constantly searching for beauty, art and cultural inspiration.
As you ascend and descend the themed floors, you’ll mingle with an eclectic cast of guests, including contemporary artists, designers, musicians, actors, winemakers, and artisans.
Why the imaginary hotel structure, you ask? We drew inspiration from the literary framework of Boccaccio’s Decameron and Perec’s Life: A User’s Manual, crafting a tale within a tale that invites you to explore multiple worlds through many different reading levels.
Intrigued? Book your stay at the Orlando Imaginary Hotel, starting to read our paper issues and our digital contents and embark on this enchanting adventure!
ORLANDO / MAECENAS
Commissioning
One of a Kind Art
Orlando aspires to be a modern Maecenas: a patron of the arts, dedicated to discovering and nurturing talents and emerging artists.
For each issue, our creative director, Antonella Dellepiane Pescetto, commissions unique works of art specifically for Orlando from some of today’s most captivating artists. Antonella works intimately with each artist, drawing on their mutual creativity and intuition to create one-of-a-kind artworks.
Among the commissioned talents are: Annie Atkins, Clym Evernden, Elisa Seitzinger, Fee Greening, Celine Oh and Natsko Seki.
Our print issues present each artwork on exquisite paper, different from the one used in the rest of the magazine, in order to accentuate the singularity of each artist’s creation.
We are also interested in unveiling unpublished works,
as we did in Orlando Issue I with the publication of Les langues des oiseaux, an unpublished painting by Luigi Serafini, the visionary behind the Codex Seraphinianus.
In our third issue, you will also find a special behind-the-scenes insert on the enchanting production of Pinocchio and A Christmas Carol by the magical illustrator Iacopo Bruno.
